10 years ago I started middle eastern dance and like many, I was swept away in the
joy of the imagery it provided. The costumes, the jewelry, the fabrics and the
sheer joy and beauty these things brought out in the dancer. As a dancer in NYC,
I realized we were missing one thing.......opportunities to capture all of
it by a photographer who also was a dancer. 8 years ago I combined the two loves
of my life and have enjoyed it every step of the way. Thank you for taking time
to view these works! When I photograph the dancers, aside from capturing her visual beauty, I strive to also capture her personality. Every dancer's style is not the same so why should her photos be? Along with these fundamentals, I infuse my background in the history of art and photography to create the portraits you see below. These are just a sampling of the dancers I have done in NYC. If you wish to see more, please visit HeroldPhoto I have included links to each of these talented dancers should you wish to learn more about them. Also, in my links section, I have started a section for other dance photographers, it is wonderful to see more opportunities growing and I encourage you to see them all! |
